The obituary in the Telegraph says:
"Larry Douglas Pearson, 31, of Wood River, was pronounced dead at 1:53 p.m. Wednesday [Oct. 12, 1983] at Wood River Township Hospital.
"He was born in Alton, son of Eugene C. and Lois (Smalley) Pearson of Alton.
"He was self employed in maintenance and landscaping and had served in the U.S. Coast Guard.
"Surviving are his parents and four brothers, Dennis of Hartford, Mark of Fort Lewis, Wash., David of Alton and Jeffrey at home.
"Private memorial services will be scheduled at a later date and Smith Funeral Home in Alton is in charge of arrangements.
"A coroner's inquest is pending."
