"Dennis Lee Parker, 54, died suddenly Saturday, March 10, 2007, at his home.
"He was born June 22, 1952, in Alton, the son of Robert J. Parker and Marla Stiles.
"After graduating from Alton High School in 1970, he went on to become a U.S. Army veteran. He worked for 25 years as an engineer for the Alton Fire Department and retired in July 2003.
"He is survived by his wife of 35 years, the former Niki La Pinta; their children, Jennifer and Brandon Fish and Aaron Parker; and a beloved granddaughter, Laycee Fish.
"In addition, survivors include a daughter, Gabryelle Parker; three brothers, Larry, Roy and Robert Parker; his sisters-in-law and their husbands, Kathryn and Gary Cooper, Angel and Ed Griesemer, Gracie Mook and Amy and Scott Woods; and many special nieces, nephews and friends."
I really don't remember Dennis as a classmate too much, back in "the day". . . however we became quite close through music and, I might add, I thought he had become very proficient as a player. A shame and a loss because I think he was just beginning to do the thing he really loved in earnest. He will be missed, no doubt.
