I'm sorry to read of Rick's passing.  My condolences go out to his family.  I remember talking with him at the mixers and reunions.  He always remembered that I went to Thomas Jefferson for grade school.  At the last reunion he was talking about how he liked to cut grass and work in the yard.  Always a pleasant guy.

I was not a close friend of Rick however he had an everday presence at the YMCA. I used to go to the YMCA when it was located downtown and for the years after it moved. Rick was always there helping out and making sure everything ran smoothly. He was always a kind and thoughtful person who embraced the orginal purpose of having an institution like the Y. Rick will be missed as he was so personable and easy to like. I regret not maintaining a closer relationship with him after high school.  I am quite sure he touched the lives of many people who came to the Y in Alton.

I knew Rick when I was living on Lindenwood near Eunice Smith elementary school in Alton. We were very good friends back then and I am so sorry to hear about his passing. My family moved to Godfrey so I couldn't keep in touch with the Rick,  or RCMC. That, strangely, is how I remembered his name. Royal Canadian Mounted Cops. Ok, so I am dyslexic and transposed a couple of initials. CRMC is hard to remember! It must have been a TV show I watched. Lol.
