Mr. Gregory Wayne Malone was born October 8, 1952, in Alton, Ill. He is the son to the union of the late Norman Frank Malone and Beulah Marie (Patterson) Johnson.

Greg attended Alton Public Schools and Collinsville High School before he joined the United States Navy. Greg was employed at John Cochran Hospital in Maintenance before his health began to fail. Gregory visited various local churches and loved the Lord.

Gregory was full of life. He enjoyed singing, dancing, and fishing. He enjoyed good food and was also a great cook himself. Greg's great personality and funny humor brought smiles to anyone around him. Gregory was a free-spirit who loved to live and celebrate life.

On Tuesday, June 30, 2015, at 3:30 a.m. Gregory received eternal rest at Barnes Jewish Hospital West in St. Peters Missouri. In addition to his father he is preceded in death by his grandparents; Maggie and Willie Patterson; Samuel and Rosebud Malone; and his sister, Michelle Malone.

He leaves to cherish fond memories of his wife Cassandra Thomas-Malone; his beloved sons, Trae Malone and Gregory Malone of Georgia; four grandchildren, Amir Malone, Layla Malone, and Malik Malone of Georgia and Paige Thomas of St. Peters; his beloved mother and stepfather, Beulah and Hewitt Johnson of Missouri; his beloved sisters whom he shared a special bond, Rhoda A. Hughes and Norma (Jeannie) Atkins of Alton, Brad (Amanda) Malone, Brian Thomas of Georgia, Rita (Matt) Morrish of California; Shelly (Stephen) Ellis of Virginia; and Suzette (Ben) Gum of California. A special aunt, Georgette Malone and two special cousins Aaron and Johnathan Malone of Glen Carbon; a special uncle, David Patterson of Missouri. Special nephews, Ryan Atkins, Christopher Atkins, and Travan Hughes of Alton, and Brad Malone Jr. of Belleville; special nieces Kendra (Curstan) Stiff and Diaunca Atkins of Alton; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will convene from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at Deliverance Temple Complex Church of God in Christ. Interment will follow at Upper Alton Cemetery. Dr. Gregory L. Harrison will officiate.
