"He was born March 17, 1952, in Alton to David F. and Cleo A. (Bextermueller) Maher of Godfrey.
"A 1970 graduate of Alton Senior High School, he was employed as a Teamster over-the-road truck driver.
"In addition to his parents, he is survived by three brothers and a sister-in-law, David J. Maher of Atlanta, Lee and Vicki Maher of St. Charles, Ill., and Brad S. Maher of Godfrey; other extended family; and friends.
"He was preceded in death by a brother, Glen Maher.
"There will be no visitation.
"Friends are invited to join the family to celebrate a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Ambrose Church in Godfrey, with Monsignor Virgil Mank as celebrant."
