"He married the former Teri Jean Clark on Dec. 26, 1980, in Alton. She died Sept. 6, 2002.
"Before his retirement in February 2003,he was employed for Alton Parks and Recreation Department in the maintenance department He was an active member of the Grandpa Gang and steering committee for the Celebration of Christmas. The Vietnam War veteran was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1308 of Alton and was an avid gardener. He graduated in 1970 from Alton High School.
"He is survived by his mother, who lives in Wood River; a daughter, Megan Budde of Alton; a son Patrick Walter Budde of Alton; a stepson, Sean Williams Maguire of Alton; a brother, John ...; three sisters and brothers-in-law,...; nieces and nephews....other family members; and friends.
"Besides his wife and father, preceding him in death were two brothers,...a sister-in-law; and father-in-law,...."
