After graduation, I attended SIU-E and earned a B.S. in education in 1974. I taught in the Southwestern School District for 33 years. I worked as a teacher, guidance counselor, and principal. I returned to SIU-E to get a M.S. in guidance and another in administration so that I could work as a counselor and principal. I am now retired(2007), but work part-time as a consultant in the little district of Brussels. It is only two days a week and has turned out to be the perfect part-time job in retirement.
My wife, Karen, recently retired from her job at Lewis and Clark College, so we feel like we are living the good life! We live on a lake in Brighton, Illinois, and have two grandchildren who visit often and are the joy of our life.

Happy birthday, Don! Karen and I really enjoyed visiting with you at the class reunion and wish we could do that more often. March 20 is a date that is easy for me to remember since it’s also my brother’s. Happy birthday and stay healthy!

I am so sad and shocked to hear of John's passing.  He and I walked to school together when we were at East Junior. A few months ago John called me and asked if I could help him locate a relative who lived in the Brighton area.  We talked and laughed about many of the great memories that we shared from those days.  I met John and Mike Gray and Steve Ogden at Tony's a few years ago for a very enjoyable evening. I am already missing him and want to send my heartfelt sympathy to his family.
