Julia Thien (Weihe) was welcomed home by Jesus on March 23, 2015.
She is the wife of Ervin J. Thien. Beloved mother to Jill Ellis and Andrea Bolitho (Jon). Devoted and loving grandmother to Chayton and Audrey Ellis, and Caleb and Nolan Bolitho. Daughter to Carl and Jeanette Weihe. Sister to Ken (Ingrid) Weihe and to Gary (Kelly) Weihe.
Julia's love for God and life is equal to the love of her family and friends. A smile in her heart and on her face is a true testament to her daily life. Dedicating her life to caring for others allowing them to stay at home with their families longer was one of her greatest accomplishments. She was ever present in her children's activities as a room mom and Girl Scout leader. Carrying these activities into her grandchildren's lives. Not only devoted to her family she dedicated her time to her church community
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., Monday, March 30, at Marks Mortuary in Wood River. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 31, at St. John United Church of Christ in Wood River with Pastor Mike Southcombe officiating.
Burial will be held at Woodland Hill Cemetery in East Alton.
Memorials may be made to St. John United Church of Christ.
