Mrs. Karen Layne Roedy Ballesteroz 20 of 1401 Willard St., Alton, died at 4 p.m. Monday at Carlinville Area Hospital where she had been one day.
The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Roedy of Alton, she was born in Moline, Ill. on Sept. 25, 1951 and graduated from Alton High School in 1970.
Mrs. Ballesteroz was a member of Vaughn Hill United Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Grimes Johnson of Colona, Ill. and paternal grandmother, Mrs. Bessie Roedy of Jerseyville; a son, Vincent, at home; three brothers, Howard, Stephen and David Roedy, all of Alton; and two sisters, Mrs. Rolan (Sandra) Carter of Moline and Miss Janet Roedy of Alton.
Friends may call after 1 p.m. Wednesday at Smith Funeral Home in Alton, where funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday with Arlen Campbell officiating.
Burial will be in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens, Bethalto.
