The obituary in the Telegraph says:

"Donna M. Bruns, 53, died at 5:40 a.m. Sunday, July 23, 2006, at Saint Anthony's Hospital in Alton with her loved ones by her side.

"Born Nov. 26, 1952, in Alton, she is the daughter of Marilyn (Cunningham) Medford of Alton and the late George L. Medford.

"She married Michael A. Bruns on Oct. 30, 1971, in Alton. He survives.

"She had been employed as an assistant at the Greater Alton United Pentecostal Super Kids Day Care Center and was employed in housekeeping at the former Saint Matthew Catholic Church and School in Alton and St. Kevin Catholic Church and School in Rosewood Heights.

"She will always be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many and was a former longtime member of St. Matthew Catholic Church and attended Holy Angels Parish in Wood River. She enjoyed cross-stitching, cooking and won several awards for her bakery goods including at the Illinois State Fair and the Jersey Country Fair, was a member of the Monday Afternoon bowling league, and enjoyed playing bunco and keno with family and friends.

"In addition to her husband and mother, surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Sara and Matthew Darr of Godfrey; two grandchildren, Andrew Roberts and Madison Darr; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Michael and Dottye Cunningham of Jerseyville, Eldon Medford of Godfrey, Brian and Trish Medford and Alan and Diana Medford, all of Godfrey; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Barbara File of Sorento, Ill., Mary Ann and Stanley Wadlow of Godfrey, Marilyn and Michael Stephens of Godfrey and Diane Herring of Alton; many nieces, nephews; great-nieces and nephews; and other extended family and many dear friends, including special friends, Cindy Medford, Dawn Williams, and Kerri Klausing."
