I worked as a cartographer and Regional Area Specialist at the Defense Mapping Agency for 21 years. Nowadays I consult for plastic model & toy companies. I just designed an 18" plastic kit of the Jupiter 2 from the Lost in Space TV series, and am starting work on a 32.5" model of the starship Enterprise from the original Star Trek series. My consulting work for Star Trek for Paramount Pictures got me an entry in the Internet Movie Database. Best of all, I work from home, and don't have to commute to St Louis any more.

Gary , as a model railroader and NOT a good model builder I am impressed. A fellow named wm clauser from St. Louis, long deceased, was a master traction modeler . I own two pieces of his handiwork, a model of Illinois Traction heavy weight train and his personal copy of blue prints for the IT Alton car 101. A close friend of mine builds handcrafting caboose models in plastics and brass, again impressive. Happy birthday
