I managed to find this obituary in the Telegraph archives yesterday. The Telegraph was dated Friday August 20, 1982. From the obituary it would seem that Ned died that day and the visitation was that night and the funeral was the next day. It says he had been sick for several weeks. So it seems that he died August 20, 1982.

Ned is buried next to my mother in Valhalla Cemetary but I believe there is no actual date he died on his tombstone, just the year.

He always looked out for the "under dog." A good looking, popular, upper middle income guy who recognized faith as it is; a legacy that only illuminates itself when called upon; and, as always, only under the proper light.

He knew he was dying when he visited others, but he spoke nothing.

Ned Green, charming as ever, made many visits prior to his death. One of them was to me.

Today, I pray to Our Lady, and I ask her to have Ned, also, pray for us all. And, how do I know that he is... You don't have to be a prophet to know that. You just have to be one of the lucky one's... to have known him.
