I lived in Idaho seven years, working at a guest ranch in Stanley the first summer. Camped much, took some great photos, received the evangelistic call of God while at the ranch. A black bear sniffed my sleeping bag toward the end of the season. Years later a deer stuck its nose into my sleeping bag. My style of camping was a sleeping bag on the ground. Now I sleep in my car. Close encounters of the wild kind: at different times two fox came into camp, a mountain lion 100’ from me, bluebirds and a Kingfisher close up, more deer in my camp. Love the Northwest.
The two business certificates opened numerous doors of opportunity. With the Interior Decorating skills I worked in sales for several companies and then as a display assistant at Sears dressing dummies (mannequins). Although I was not interested in secretarial work in high school, display departments were being downsized, and that’s when I took the legal secretary course.
I worked at the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District in Personnel for a couple years, then moved to California where I lived for 10+ years. I worked as a receptionist, an administrative assistant and an Executive Admin Assistant.
I wrote a book titled, “What Did Jesus Really Say.” Each page is a different vignette taken from life’s lessons, visions from the Lord, and the Word of God itself. It has been copyrighted but still has no ISBN. If you would like a desktop published copy, please contact me at 618.465.0664.
While in California, I went to Morocco on an evangelistic world team. We flew out of NY in July, ’01, so we got to see the Twin Towers before the September tragedy. Morocco is in the top ten countries of the world that persecutes Christians, so we could not pray in Jesus’ name in front of any nationals. Islam is the religion of Morocco and it was quite different to be in a country that was not a nation under God honoring Jesus Christ. I’m so grateful to be an American.
I moved back to Alton in May, ’09, and with the economy being so quiet, returned to home health as a caregiver. I love being back with my family and truly love the Mississippi River and the Midwest geography and seasons. The day may come, though, that I return to Idaho on a permanent basis.

Life is a gift from God. Our response to life is a form of worship and the Word of God is the basis for our response.

School Story:

Some of my high school memories include dances at ARC’s, Debbie Bayley’s no sole shoes, Janet Ryrie’s yellow Cutlass convertible, Steve Spencer impersonating my dad by calling me in sick for a day so I could skip classes, and Mrs. Hardin’s weekly vocabulary tests! In my Acting class we had to memorize and perform soliloquies in front of the class, and in Theater Practice I used chicken wire, paper mache, and clay to sculpt and paint a skull as one of the props used in the play, “You Can’t Take it With You.”

Don lived in my childhood neighborhood of Twelfth Street and Lincoln School in Alton, and he played with all of us kids.  He was outgoing then and seems to have carried that trait into adulthood.  I am sorry for the family's great loss.

Diana, we had Christmas dinner at Julia's and the charge was only $16.00. The food was excellent and abundant. I thought $40 per person was a bit much for the reunion meal. Could you propose a fee reduction for the next reunion?

Secondly, I received on February 27th a notification about Ron Smith's death that happened last October. I received the same notification last October, too. I have sent out a number of correspondences but have received no responses. Is there a glitch in the system?

Thanks for considering these concerns. Hope life is going well for you.

Thanks, again, Diana for spending so much time and energy to make the reunion a success. I love the photo memory book! Very generous of you! It was good seeing you. Florida and retirement suit you well!

Diana, the same weekend of our reunion is the Festival of the Little Hills in St. Charles, MO. It's their annual craft festival where 200+ vendors get together for a huge outdoor sale. Great place for Christmas gifts and unique items and food. Could we use the bus to go as a group over there if you decide to cancel the River Road trip?
