"Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Annie Bell Burgess of Alton; his father and stepmother, Mr. and Mrs. Elijah Burgess Sr.; his widow, Hazel and two children, Elijah and Leon, at home, and 18 brothers and sisters.
"Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Church of God in Alton, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday.
