"ALTON - William G. Barton Jr., died at 5:10 a.m. Wednesday, June 14, 1989, at St. Mary's Hospital in Clayton, Mo., after a brief illness.
"Barton had been a hair stylist for Mount Shadow Salon in Phoenix, Ariz., two years, and at Don and Tina's Hair Salon in Scottsdale, Ariz., the past 10 years.
"Born in Alton, he was the son of William and Viola (White) Barton of Alton.
"Surviving are his parents and a brother, Rick Barton of Alton.
"Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Friday with services 1 p.m. Saturday at Staten Funeral Home in Alton. The Rev. John Mark Hoppman will officiate.
"Burial is in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
"Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society."
