I've sent a message to Cathy Williams Funeral home to try to get a copy of Milton's obit. If they respond I'll post it for all to see. What kind of funeral home doesn't have a web site these days??? If anyone local can stop by there and pick up a copy, send it to me and I'll post it. Take are all.

I still have a copy of our Commencement Booklet which has a class roll of 732 students listed in it.  It is dated Tuesday Evening, June 2, 1970.  A newspaper article which came out the following day (Wednesday, June 3, 1970) states that 706 of us actually attended the graduation ceremony and received our diplomas that night.  It is safe to say that not everyone who originally started out in our class actually graduated.

Was Greg Tanler (spelling may be incorrect) in our graduating class or did he move to our area later?  Does anyone know where he is now?

Thanks.

It is with deepest regret I must pass on the Reunion. Looks to be a lot of fun. I am committed to a Boy Scout event that weekend, and am one of the key people so I can't let them down. Hopefully when the next one rolls around I can make that one.

Everybody have one for me!

Allen

What happened?
We were best friends at West and great friends in high school...what happened?
When we were freshman we used to want to be part of the crowd that circled at Blocks in Upper Alton. Then, when we were seniors, we WERE the crowd that circled Blocks on Central...what happened?
You were my best friend's girlfriend, yet we were still friends after they broke-up...what happened?
When my parents divorced, you were my one true constant that helped me see through the fog of my life...what happened?
Without you to help me, I would have never passed algebra...what happened?
We sat next to each other every day for a year in study hall...what happened?
You made machine shop class so much more interesting; oh, the trouble we got into...what happened?
You made Sunday school more interesting...what happened?
Thanks to you and your friendship, I didn't feel like such a nerd in high school...what happened?
We spent 12 years together seeing each other every single day of our lives...what happened?
When we were cheerleaders together, we knew our team was a winner...what happened?
Sitting next to you in orchestra made me a better violinist...what happened?
Still remember our teamwork when we played that game against Granite City...what happened?
You were always first chair in Marching 100, but you made me strive to want to play better...what happened?
The slumber parties we had in junior high were some of the best memories of my life...what happened?
When we were JJG's it felt like it was us against the world...what happened?
Remember the great times we had out at the lake...what happened?
With you batting clean-up, I knew the game would be our's for the taking...what happened?
You taught me how to drive stick-shift in the A&P parking lot...what happened?
When I was the "new kid" at North, you showed me the ropes and we became quick friends...what happened?
You helped me everyday learn my lines for the school musical...what happened?
So many movies we saw at The Grand...Gold Finger comes to mind...what happened?
We each have amazing, fun, thrilling and some not-so-fun memories of our high school and junior high days.
Outside of our family, we shared those days with some pretty important people in our lives; people that made a difference in our live's then...and now. Some of us have stayed in touch, some of us have re-connected with old friends and then...there are some of us that say, "If I haven't spoken to them in 50 years, why now?"
Why now? BECAUSE, that's why! (I hear my mother scything that now)
Really, it may have been 50 years since we last spoke, but that doesn't make us any less important to each other and in each other's live's. We each altered the other's life. So, because we were so significant at one time...let's do it again!
As I look through my Tatler I remember so much of my high school years. The past is not where I live, but it is a place of comfort and joy that I like to visit now and then. What I enjoy more is seeing each person that was significant in my life then, today. Again, not to relive yesterday, but to enjoy more of today, with you in it.
Yes, life happens, but the ties that bind us are still there.
We might not text, or call or even think about each other everyday, but that doesn't keep you from my prayers.
So please...will you meet me July 31st and August 1st in Alton; for old times sake? ❤️ Diana

Okay, Diana's post has me filling out the reunion form and sending a check. I will try hard to make this work with my usual summer art fair schedule.  See you at the reunion this year.
